Support NextChapter
NextChapter is free, and it's going to stay that way. If it's brought you a good book or a new friend, you can help keep the lights on.
The honest version
NextChapter is built and run by one person. I write the code, answer the feedback, and pay every hosting bill out of my own pocket.
The easy way to cover those costs would be ads. I won't do it. Ads turn readers into inventory, and they pull an app toward keeping you on your phone instead of getting you out the door to meet someone. That's the opposite of why NextChapter exists.
So here's the deal I've made with myself: I'll keep paying for it, and I'll ask the community to help. If that ever stops being enough, I would rather shut NextChapter down than turn it into another place to sell ad space. It stays free, it stays ad-free, or it doesn't exist.

The API, the database that knows which shelves are near you, and the messages between readers.
Book data for every search and barcode scan, plus the map lookups that suggest where to meet.
Sign-in emails, push notifications, app store memberships, and this website.
Any amount helps, and all of it goes to running NextChapter.
Supporting doesn't unlock anything. Everyone gets the same app. NextChapter isn't a nonprofit, so contributions aren't tax-deductible.
